January marked the first of our bi-annual KidWorks’ prayer walks with our faith and church partners.
Faith partners from a variety of church backgrounds gathered both in-person and live stream options which allowed more than 75 believers to participate.
Prayer partners pray for those we serve and for guidance in developing and leading our programs. It’s always a sweet moment when the students in our state-licensed preschool see people praying for them. Each day, we see how your prayers for our students, families, volunteers, supporters and staff are answered in abundance by God.
During the prayer walk, Pastor Matt Down from Calvary Church and Suzi Lyons, Director of Serve Engagement, from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church led the attendees in prayer for the future of KidWorks.
We thank these churches for being part of the January prayer walk:
Calvary Church, Santa Ana
Mariners Church, Irvine
New Song, Santa Ana
Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Newport Beach
Redeemer Church Orange County, Newport Beach
Saddleback Church, Lake Forest
St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Newport Beach
“KidWorks was originally funded through the generosity of church partners and we seek to engage more church and faith partners for the months and years ahead,” says David Benavides, our Executive Director/CEO. “This can be by hosting or supporting events, hosting a summer vacation bible class, volunteering, tutoring, hosting a youth night, preparing care packages for our college/university students and much more.”
We invite entire churches and other places of worship along with people of faith to become involved with KidWorks. We encourage congregation members to spread the word and join us on our mission to provide hope and inspiration to our KidWorks’ families.
