Share the most meaningful experiences you’ve had at KidWorks? What made them impactful to you?
I love hanging out in KidWorks classrooms with students and seeing friends at the Foundation for Success luncheon. They even made
a video about my life.
Can you talk about some of the biggest obstacles KidWorks' programming overcame when you were involved?
My name sake, Dan Donahue, was an avid volunteer at KidWorks. He loved helping out in the classrooms and worked tirelessly to bring hope and resources to the children of KidWorks. He wanted a bigger space to serve even more students. In 2002, Dan Donahue unexpectedly passed away. To honor his memory, friends and family of Dan Donahue raised over one million dollars at a “celebration of life” luau. These funds were donated in their entirety to KidWorks. The KidWorks Board uses their donation to purchase a much-needed building to transform into a community center. Dan’s work and memory continues to leave an indelible mark on KidWorks.
