Summer Volunteer Opportunities
KidWorks serves nearly 300 students each summer. We are already preparing our rooms, our staff, but mostly our hearts for the students that will walk through our doors in just a few months. You can help us to provide a very different kind of summer for our students and we have several ways you can get involved. .
Here are a few ways your group can impact a life of a student this summer:
Host A Corporate Field Trip:
Introduce KidWorks students to new career opportunities by hosting a job site tour at your place of business. KidWorks students can meet with your employees and learn about industry trends and career requirements. This is invaluable, as many of our students have limited exposure to the careers available to them.
Host A VBS At KidWorks:
Churches and para-church organizations are needed to run Vacation Bible School-type activities for the students during the summer at KidWorks. This can be a day or weeklong session that is great for both teens and corporate groups to volunteer.
Host A Friday Fun Day At KidWorks:
Come out and join our students for a day of fun! We invite your group to organize arts & crafts, hands-on STEM related projects/workshops, mini-carnival games, sports, and more.
This is a great team-building session for corporate groups as they work shoulder-to-shoulder providing fun activities for the students at KidWorks. Activities can take place at KidWorks or host a field trip to your facility and include activities such as crafts, dance, games and sports for the students.
Be a Reading Buddy:
Support KidWorks literacy program for our K-5th grade students. You can bring your own book or select a book from our lending library. Volunteers will come out and read books with our students, then after the story is over, enjoy fun times with the kids.
